ARISE: A Revolution in Student Education
Our mission is to provide the utmost in superior academic education through professional preparation of the first rank in both performing and visual arts. The OPUS programs for Academic Specialty and the Arts are compelled to provide a broad spectrum of learning for a wide range of life pursuits while fostering a passion for knowledge; an understanding and a questioning of cultural values; and a view of our young scholars as independent, lifelong learners, and contributors to knowledge and service in an ever-changing world. A meaningful process yields a meaningful product is the common thread sewn throughout the historical quilt created by this organization and its community providing a safe environment to the geographic, economic and ethnic diversity of all its specialists and artists. Our faculty is active scholars, artists, and practitioners utilizing discipline and interdisciplinary curricula grounded in excellence.

"Working for the OPUS ARISE program at Pablo Neruda High School in the Bronx was a truly gratifying experience. OPUS' contribution as a credit-attained after-school program offers high school scholars the opportunity to experience the arts in accord with their academic curriculum. They eagerly pursue positive extra-curricular activity electing favorable options for credit recovery via self-expression and creativity. My personal role, for this my first appointment with ARISE was to tutor students in preparation for the NYC Regents examination in Global History. I am pleased to say that a student's failure to pass the Regents three times was conquered after just three months in the Regents prep program. I was also elated to see the students culminating performance of the Arts at Great Adventures Theme Park delivered optimal success. I truly anticipate working for OPUS' ARISE program in the future, and making a difference in the lives of our New York City youth."
