A.R.I.S.E. Program

A Revolution in Student Education—A summary of the programs offered under the A.R.I.S.E. umbrella.

Vocal-Creative Communication

An intensive creative writing elective, aligned with the NYS ELA standards, which provides students with a forum to practice and understand the power of words. It is the goal of this educational program to expose students to verbal and nonverbal forms of communication.

Dance Power

An intensive art elective designed to supplement and/or enhance the existing physical fitness program at your school. Dance Power offers students a chance to develop stories and express their stories through movement, which builds stronger ELA learners.

Drama

An intensive art elective design for performers and anyone else who want to free their bodies for maximum efficiency for self-expression. It will enable the student to identify habits that can reinforce their freedom of movement and balance. Students will learn to release bodily tension and move with more ease and poise thus becoming more conscious and accountable for the way they use their bodies.

Martial Arts

This training aims to result in several benefits, such as, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Through systematic practice in the martial arts a person's physical fitness may be boosted (strength, stamina, flexibility, movement coordination, etc.), as the whole body is exercised and the entire muscular system is activated.

Music as a Revolution

A high quality music elective, aligned with the NYS Standards of the Arts-Music, with an emphasis on the migration of the Djembe drums from Africa to the United States. Music has played a crucial role in the social and political development across many cultures. The goal of this program is for the student to appreciate music as a language and understand the power a musical instrument has to tell a story.
